We at Global Classroom, plan our assessments from the ground level on up.
- Who knows the curriculum better than the curriculum writers? That is who writes our assessments.
- Our textbooks are divided into 6 parts called ‘tiers.’ At the end of each tier, an assessment is given.
- Assessments given after tiers 1, 2, 4, and 5 are “Inspire” (summative) assessments. These come with self-diagnosis and personal development plans.
- The mid-term and final assessments given after tiers 3 and 6 are “Empower” (formative) assessments.
Good assessments will lead to accurate, helpful reports. Parents, teachers and students all benefit from reporting that focuses on specific skills within subject areas. Students are also rated on four other (non-academic) areas of development. Students are given opportunity to reflect what they perceive parents and teachers saying about them.
Surpass reports are generated online after each tier. These give student and teacher a clear picture of achievements. They are also the basis for a ‘smart’ study plan. Parents receive detailed information on their child's strengths and areas of improvement. Parents greatly appreciate these reports. Parents no longer must wait for PTM's to learn in which areas their child is weak. Parents become better partners in their child's learning.
